Overview

AI-me is an Event AI companion by What's On! deployed at the UNSW Societal Impact of AI Symposium. It became the room's default helper: 508 of 550 attendees used it to get instant answers, find quiet spaces, explore sessions, share highlights, and meet the right people — without queues or paper.

Answers arrived in 3–5 seconds with no human handoffs, and accessibility requests were handled on the spot. Privacy stayed front-and-centre with Australian hosting and data kept only as needed.

Impact at a glance:

  • 1,007 questions answered in 3–5s
  • 101 Smart Notes users; 97 LinkedIn posts
  • 213 actions — Panel QnA, Competition Voting, Hackathon Engagement
  • 251 people used matchmaking; 800 recommendations delivered
  • 39 exhibitor/sponsor matches
  • ~30 hours help-desk time saved in just one day

What we did

  • Full-stack Development (Next.js)
  • AI Chatbot Development
  • Real-time Analytics
  • API Integration

AI-me transformed the Symposium from a crowded event into a personalised experience. I got answers in seconds, discovered sessions I would have missed, and even made connections that shaped new collaborations. All of this, without standing in a single queue.
